UDHAMPUR, Feb 20: Locals of Ward number 21 in Nagrota today protested against failure of some Government departments in providing basic needs to the people.
They beat plates and utensils to voice their resentment PWD, PHE, Municipal Council, Devika Project, Pollution Control and BDO Udhampur. Advocate Sanjeet Bavouria, Chairman Jan Sangharsh Sanstha, led the protest that was held near Government Middle School Boys.
While addressing the protesters, Sanjeet Bavouria alleged that Jal Shakti Department was not providing regular supply of drinking water while the Municipal department has failed to make arrangements for cleanliness in the ward. “Devika Project has caused uprooting the streets, which have turned into drains filled with water while the Block Development authorities has failed to complete even a single work,” he said and appealed LG Manoj Sinha to inquire about status of the works and money spent on the same.
The protest demonstration was also addressed by Gulzar Master, Baldev Bhardwaj, Prabhakar, Sahil, Ishtiaq Qazi, Mohan Lal and Rajinder Lambardar.
