SAMBA, Sept 17: A team of Legal Metrology Department (LMD) from district Samba today booked about a dozen traders and imposed a fine of Rs 19,300 on them.
Official sources said that the team led by Assistant Controller Anita Sharma, assisted by Inspector Narinder Kumar during extensive market checking at Ghagwal, Sarore, Birpur and SIC Bari Brahmana booked a dozen traders and a floor mill owner for violation of various provisions of Weights and Measures and imposed a fine of Rs 19,300 on them. The fine money was also recovered on the spot.
