LMD books HPCL’s Plant Manager, Sales Officer

REASI, Nov 21: Legal Metrology Department (LMD) booked Plant Manager and Sales Officer of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) for violation of J&K Weights and Measures Enforcement Act and rules.
According to official spokesman, acting over consumers’ complaint, the Department of Legal Metrology conducted checking at M/s Adhoc Reasi Rajouri Gas Agency, a dealer of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) at Main Road, Reasi.
During checking, Inspector Legal Metrology Sumit Bhardwaj under the supervision of Assistant Controller, Legal Metrology Reasi found that weight of the sealed domestic LPG cylinders was less by 300 grams to 1.890 kg against 14.2 kg.
On this, Inspector Legal Metrology booked Plant Manager and Sales Officer of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) through M/s Adhoc Reasi Rajouri Gas Agency Reasi for violation of J&K Weights and Measures Enforcement Act and rules.
During further inspection, it was found that M/s Adhoc Reasi Rajouri Gas Agency was charging Rs 100 for Suraksha House installation (LPG rubber pipe), which otherwise is to be provided free of cost to the consumers under PMUY Scheme.
HPCL through the Proprietor of M/s Adhoc Reasi Rajouri Gas Agency has been directed to attend the office of Assistant Controller, Legal Metrology, Reasu for further legal action.
