JAMMU, Apr 8: Demanding amendment in Jammu University statutes for lowering the pass percentage of LLB (Three-year), the Law students today held a protest demonstration in front of Vice-Chancellor’s office.
Led by Nitin Bakshi, the protesters raised slogans in support of their demands, which also included introduction of supplementary examination system in 4th, 5th and 6th semesters.
While addressing the protesters, Mr Bakshi claimed that they were earlier assured by the University that their demand would be conceded soon after consultation with the Controller Examination but the authorities were now adopting delaying tactics.
Later the protesting students also met the Vice-Chancellor Prof M P S Ishar, who was accompanied by Controller Examination and other officers.
Even as the Vice-Chancellor assured to look into the demand, he made it clear that any change in statute could be affected only after following set procedure for the same.
