SRINAGAR, Jan 19: Hundreds of Litter residents today held a protest at Press Enclave here against the Government for not granting tehsil status to their village.
The villagers criticized the Government for ignoring them and granting a tehsil status to a nearby village Lassipora.
Earlier, some residents had held hunger strike for eight days to press the Government to grant tehsil status to their village.
Officials in the administration said that the residents were provoked after rumours were floated in the area that they would not get a new administrative unit.
