JAMMU, Nov 22: All J&K Electric Department Linemen and Workers Union urged the higher authorities in PDD to address their long pending issues.
In a meeting of the Union held under the chairmanship of Ashiq Hussain, its president, the members demanded implementation of SRO 381 and SRO-59, release of funds meant for workers who during the process of execution of works met with an accident in the field, security cover through insurance for such workers, creation of welfare fund for workers meeting such fate/ accident death or injury, conduct of DPC of the cadre, regularisation of daily wagers and provision of safety tools for the field Electric workers.
They appealed the higher authorities to look into these genuine issues of the linemen and other field workers.
