JAMMU, Apr 1: Leader of the BJP Legislature Party and former Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh has termed the Government decision of lifting ban on Khairwood tree felling as a people friendly step, which was being demanded by him.
Dr Singh said the decision was a long pending demand of the people of kandi areas of the Jammu Division, who had been pressing for the same as it directly affects their livelihood. He said that the step would go a long way in solving the long pending issue.
Dr. Singh said that he had taken up the matter earlier with the then Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and he also had taken up the same with the concerned and assured that the needful would be done at an earliest.
