JAMMU, Aug 2: The life and works of renowned sculptor of Jammu and Kashmir, Ganesh Kumar Sharma, has found space in “Arts and Artists”, a book written on contemporary artists of India.
The book encompasses life and works of 52 Indian contemporary artists and Ganesh Kumar Sharma is the only artist (sculptor) from the State, who has been included in this historical book. “Art and Artists” is a documentary of art journey of the artists in which the wealth of art is written along with the struggles of the artists and their accomplishments.
The book was released in a grand function, which also saw inauguration of All India Art Exhibition at KT Kala, Amritsar. Dr Baldev Gambhir, eminent artist of India, was the chief guest on the occasion and among other dignitaries, Dr Brijesh Jolly, Director, KT Kala, was also present.
Ganesh Kumar Sharma, who belongs to village Sanoora of district Samba, has showcased his art works at coveted galleries of national and international reputation and has won many awards at State, National and International level. He has done 23 solo shows and participated in more than 300 group shows in India and abroad. His biography has already been published in so many books, art directories and journals.
