JAMMU, Aug 18: Principal Sessions Judge Rajouri Jaffer Hussain Beigh has awarded rigorous life-impriosnment to Sat Paul, son of Dhani Ram of Kotranka, who was involved in murder of Shafiq Ahmed over land dispute.
After hearing both the sides, the court observed, “the case does not fall within the category of rarest of rare case”.
Accordingly, the court awarded rigorous imprisonment for life to the accused for the commission of offence under Section 302 RPC. He was further awarded rigorous imprisonment for five years for the commission of offence under Section 449 RPC.
The accused was also awarded rigorous imprisonment for two years for the commission of offence under Section 3(1) read with Section 25(1-B)(A) of the Arms Act. The sentences imposed upon the accused shall run concurrently, the court ordered.
