JAMMU, Nov 1: The Pension & Group Schemes (P&GS) Unit of LIC of India, organized two days awareness camp/seminar at Directorate of Social Welfare Jammu regarding Aam Admi Bima Yojana under the banner of Social Security month.
The focus of the seminar was Aam Admi Bima Yojana which provide Insurance Cover at a very low cost to people living under or marginally above poverty line.
Ankur Mahajan Dy Director ICDS Jammu was the chief guest. While speaking on the occasion, she apprised the participants of the various social security group insurance products and their salient features.
Chaitanya Sharma – Br. Manager LIC of India and RK Bakaya, Adm Officer explained the benefits under these schemes being provided to the economically weaker, land less households and 48 other occupation identified by Govt of India. He said that the schemes are providing death cover, disability cover and scholarship to downtrodden and weaker section of the society.
Ankur Mahajan Dy Director ICDS Jammu in her welcome address highlighted the benefits of the Scheme and called upon the officers of Welfare Departments to aware the masses regarding the benefit of the scheme.
A very healthy interaction was observed during the course of the deliberations of the seminar and participants showed keen interest and enthusiasm toward the various aspects of the schemes.
