LEH, Dec 8: Lieutenant Governor Ladakh R K Mathur today made a brief visit to APJ Model Village Saboo and interacted with the locals.
He was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Leh, Sachin Kumar, ACD Rural Department Leh, Tsering Paldan, Area Councillor Phunchok Dorjey, and Block Development Chairman Dr Skalzang Dorjey.
Councillor Phunchok, accompanied by Chairman BDC, Nambardar and members of Saboo village gave a tour of ongoing works of water reservoir cum ice-hockey rink, playground, community hall, Presidents’ Park, etc and gave a detailed account of their requirements to the LG.
Giving a patient hearing, LG assured suitable action on their various needs.
Earlier, Mathur visited one of the households of a progressive farmer and saw green-house cultivation of both commercial and domestic vegetables and fruits.
LG Ladakh also visited the waste segregation plant-Project Tsang Da at Solar Colony. He appreciated the overall waste management process and gave some suggestions to improve the processes.
