Let’s learn and grow up

Ravinder K Dhankhar
The life God has bestowed upon us is beautiful, beautiful and beautiful. This is His grace that we are in a position to carry out all physical and mental activities without strains, and also able to relish the bounties offered to us by nature. We must extend thanks to Almighty for the gift of this life.
Aryan, age four was going to school in a cheerless mood. Just a prank, I told him that it’s a holiday. He opened his eyes wide, then smiled, stopped and returned immediately for his home. The very idea of holiday brought smile on his gloomy face is a point to say that children detest schooling systems, since there is baseless cramming of the facts with too much monotony, less creativity, less activities and obviously no fun. Parents in huddle crave to send their children in schools with premonition to prepare them well for academic, sans going into the mind sets of the children. Children at tender age get poor stimulus via mechanical teaching and they fall into the trap of strains and performance pressure from the early age, enshrining negative impression on them. Therefore, young children should be made a part of age appropriate learning and to be admitted in schools only after five and that too not far away from home, since too much transit take a toll on their energy.
Next, we live in dot com era where transition is quite rapid and we all are expected to grow with the time. With the fast changing world is also the great expansion of population, development of infrastructure, increase in the literacy rate, over ambitiousness and a cut throat completion, yes neck-to-neck leading to develop ‘complex’ not only among the young but also in grown up parents. There is a mad race for marks and knowledge but with poor growth of humility, sensibility and wisdom. The young are fostered with the ideas that marks are everything in life and so called educated deem it a yardstick for success.
None look where they are cut out for, just high fizzy aspirations prepare them to dwell in fool’s paradise and it’s not the inner self, but society, peers pressure and parents remain partners in determining what is good for him. Once the results of different competitive exams are announced, there is much frustration among parents and students at large; and those who joined prestigious institutions are judged as high achievers; these so called high achievers are further caught up in struggle in campuses, further competitions and even after campus life there is struggle for placements.
Look, this life is three time beautiful. It must and should be enjoyed to the fullest with a strong component of culture, inculcation of values and adventurous life style and really with good professional qualifications and bulky bank balance. Simple mantra is to do where you are good at. In this dot com age there is super specialization in every arena. There is no dearth of professions, just have a suitable choice out of your hearts irrespective of what peers, relatives or sometime even what parents say. Once you choose any profession correctly matching to your means, you will age with grace professionally and financially. Success will be yours in stress free situations.
Importantly, it should be understood that disability is found only in wrong selection and bad attitude. Whatsoever you do, put your heart and soul to meet desired aims therein. With positive attitude and right selection, you can excel irrespective of apparently insurmountable odds like Caroly the famous shooter did while winning gold medal that too without his best hand and Arunima Sinha, scaling Mt Everest despite amputated legs.
