LeT associate arrested, ammunition recovered in Baramulla

SRINAGAR: Police on Tuesday claimed to have arrested a Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) militant associate alongwith ammunition in north Kashmir district of Baramulla.

A police spokesperson said that following specific information, a joint checkpoint was established by police, 52 Rashtriya Rifle (RR) and 177 battalion of CRPF at Sangrama junction in Baramulla on Monday.

“The security forces intercepted a LeT militant associate, identified as Sajad Ahmad Khan, at the checkpoint,” he said, adding that ammunition, including 55 AK rounds, besides other incriminating material was recovered from him.

He said a case has been registered and investigation has been initiated to nab other people involved in militancy.   (AGENCIES)
