REASI, May 23: A minor girl was killed by a leopard in Mahore area of district Reasi this evening.
A police spokesman said that people from Shajroo village on Mahore-Gool road reported to Police Station Mahore that a full grown leopard attacked 8-year-old Rahila Banoo, daughter of Mushtaq Ahmed, resident of Shajroo near her home when she was returning from nearby fields.
The family members raised alarms and moved out with lathis to rescue the girl but the wild beast killed the girl and dragged away her body to nearby jungle. Later, well equipped villagers started search in the area and recovered half eaten body of the girl lying in bad condition, from the jungle.
