SAMBA, June 29: A leopard which has created terror in Mahorgarh and adjoining villages for the last several weeks killed three goats of a farmer last night.
Reports said a full grown leopard barged into the cattle shed of one Babu Singh at a hamlet near Mahorgarh village in remote area of district Samba and killed three goats. The wild beast also dragged away one of the goats.
The farmer’s family raised alarm and came out with lathis and burnt fire and managed to save their other cattle. Village Sarpanch Puran Chand said that this leopard has created terror in the entire area of Nangal, Mahorgarh, Kathar and Sarna and the people have stopped coming out of their houses during night and even sleep outside in the open during these hot summers due to terror created by this wild beast. He urged the Wild Life Protection Department to capture this big wild cat and keep it in Manda Park.
