RAJOURI, Mar 29: Leopard attacked the cattle shed of a villager in Kalakote area last night and killed 10 goats and caused injuries to the six others.
Reports said that a full grown leopard attacked the cattle-shed of one Mohd Shabir, son of Mohd Fazal, resident of Jat Margan in Kalakote area. The wild beast killed ten goats and caused injuries to the six others. The farmer heard the noise and woke up. They lit the fire and the leopard escaped.
In the morning, the matter was reported to Police and Wild Life and Forest Department officials. The villagers alleged that the leopard has created terror in the area. Later, a Veterinary team also went there. The villagers have demanded compensation for the poor farmer.
