RAJOURI, Feb 12: A leopard was found dead under mysterious circumstances in forest area of Kotranka (Kandi) this afternoon.
Official sources said that a villager while grazing cattle noticed a full grown leopard lying dead in the forest area of Kanthol Morha, near Argi in Kandi (Kotranka) forest at around 2 pm. He informed village Sarpanch . Later the villagers reached the spot. The wild beast had large wound on back.
The matter was later brought to the notice of Wild Life authorities at Rajouri. The team along with Veterinary doctor reached the spot and after completion of all the legal formalities disposed off the body. A case has been registered in this connection under Wild Life Act, the sources added.
