UDHAMPUR, Oct 29: Acting strongly against the illegal hunting of vanishing species of leopards, Police today registered a case against some unknown hunters for killing a leopard in Tagan area of Ramnagar tehsil.
Based on some reliable information regarding killing of a leopard, a Police party from Ramnagar Police Station swung into action and after thorough search of the forest area recovered the dead body of leopard from Tagan nallah.
However, the skin and teeth of the leopard were peeled off by the hunters. In this connection, a case FIR No 140 under Section 43/51 of Wild Life Act and 6 Forest Act was registered against the unknown hunters.
Police has picked up two suspects and their sustained interrogation was going on.
