Ladakhis have demonstrated it once again that they can achieve what they desire and proved the old and age ‘where there is will, there is a way’ prove once again.
By planting a stagging number of 99,000 saplings in 53 minutes, they have left the world awe-struck. Involving a work force of 9814 people in this task is quite commendable.
Besides, it brings to fore the commitment of Ladakhis to preserve their environment. Feeling concerned over deteriorating environment in the region, they have taken steps to ensure that it does not determinate further. Earlier, the district administration imposed ban on polythene bags and plastic bottles.
A place like Ladakh needs proper environment protection as the region is thronged by lakhs of tourists every year, particularly foreign tourists. In case the remedial measures are not taken right from now, no tourist would visit the region in the future.
The example set by Ladakhis need to the followed by people of other regions who encounter such problems.
