Leh gets J&K’s first Automatic Milk Vending Machine

LEH, June 13: Leh district has become the first district in J&K to have an Automatic Milk Vending Machine Swap Operating (AMVMSO) which facilitates the milk consumers  to fetch milk through a swap card ( like an ATM card)  whenever they require.
With the launching of this machine, the citizens of Leh don’t have to stand now in queue for hours to get the milk every morning.
The Chief Executive Councilor, Leh Rigzin Spalbar inaugurated the battery operated AMVMSO costing about 9.5 lakh under State Task Force at Leh Lal Chowk today in presence of Executive Councilor CA&PD Ghulam Abass Abidi and Additional Deputy Commissioner Tsering Morup.
CEC Rigzin Spalbar said that such machines not only reduce the labour work of man but also helps in maintaining the proper hygiene of milk with accountability and systematic supply. With the introduction of this latest technology in Leh, CEC with an optimistic thought said that milk business in Leh will touch new heights in years to come and at the same time he stressed upon the functionaries of Animal Husbandry Dept to make the  milk consumers  trained  to the machine while fetching milk through swap card.
The Chief Animal Husbandry Officer Dr Qayoom informed that after identifying the certain strategic location, the multi layered tank with 500 liters capacity will be stationed at identified location and milk collected from villages through Ladakh Milk Union Limited will be given to public through AMVMSO. He also informed about launching another refrigerator machine at fixed location in view of increasing demand of milk.
Councilors Lobzang Nyantak, Tsering Angmo,  Ghulam Syed-Din, Mohd Shafi Lassu, Gyal-Wangyal, Tsering Sonam, were also present during the inauguration programme.
