LEH, Jan 24: The Executive Councillor for Health Tsering Sandup along with Councillor Tegar Rigzin Lundup today met with Joint Secretary, Usha Padhee Ministry for Civil Aviation, Government of India at New Delhi and requested for inclusion of Nubra Airport in UDAN Scheme and apprised her about the problems being faced by Nubra people due to Khardong La Pass specially during winter months.
Ms. Usha Padhee told EC Sandup that a meeting regarding inclusion of left out places of nation will be held tomorrow and assured to give due consideration for inclusion of Nurba Valley in the next UDAN Scheme.
Meanwhile, EC Sandup and Councillor Rigzin Lundup also met with Nidhi Khare, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs GoI at Delhi and requested for enhancement in allocation of funds under BADP in Nubra region and inclusion of left out villages of Nubra in BADP Scheme. EC Sandup also apprised Nidi Khare that despite Nubra region falling under Indo-China border and no any fund was allocated through ITBP for civil works till date. He requested her to allocate funds in this regard.
Joint Secretary, Nidi Khare assured the delegation that the demand will be given due consideration.
