LEH, Aug 22: On the last and second day tour of Phyang constituency, the Chairman/ Chief Executive Councillor LAHDC, Leh Gyal P Wangyal visited Gapheling, Tashi Gatsal, Sonam Barmaling, Solar Colony, Tashi Thongsmonling, Kharnakling, Kongmaling, Norbooling, Ayu, Saboo and Dasepama villages.
Councillor Phyang Phuntsog Dorjey, BDC Leh Dr Skalzang Dorjey and district level officers and engineers headed by ADC Leh Sonam Chosjor accompanied CEC during the tour today.
Addressing public gathering at all the villages, CEC Wangyal highlighted the major achievements of present Council in last five years. Responding to some common demands of the Tashi Gatsal areas like proper allotment of their residential land, CEC directed Tehsildar Leh Gyurmet Namgyal to study the land allotment cases on priority and submit the proposals to Hill Council Leh so that all land related issues could be solved at the earliest. Regarding drinking water related issues, CEC said that Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) launched by GoI is the permanent solution in providing drinking water facilities under which every household will be provided tap Connection by 2022 in Ladakh and instructed concerned Sarpanches to ensure timely door to door survey of every household under JJM.
For blacktopping of remaining internal roads in Tashi Gatsal area, CEC directed Xen Construction Leh Nissar Ahmad to flout tenders at the earliest so that the remaining favorable season for blacktopping could be used properly.
CEC Wangyal said that all major genuine demands of different villages which could not be fulfilled due to lack of funds and discriminatory policy during erstwhile J&K Government in Ladakh, can now be addressed in near future as there will be smooth and adequate flow of funds in new set up of UT.
Councillor Phyang Phuntsog Dorjey updated villagers about the status of ongoing and new projects being executed under Rurban Mission, SDP and Capex budget sectors. Some of the major achievements highlighted by Councillor were protection bund along Saboo Nallah after 2010 flash flood, completion of Children Park at Solar Colony and number of major projects under Rurban Mission in Spituk, Choglamsar and Tashi Gatsal area.
Councillor Phuntsog said that the ‘Project Tsang-Da’ at Solar Colony Choglamsar known nationwide for its unique garbage management, will now be upgraded in second phase to increase its capacity to cover uncovered villages of Choglamsar area which is expected to solve garbage problem of entire Choglsmsar area in near future.
