JAMMU, Aug 23: Legal awareness camps on the topic “Rights of women and protection of women from domestic violence”, were held here today.
JAMMU: A legal awareness camp was organized on the direction of Sanjay Gupta, Chairman, DLSA, Principal, District and Sessions Judge, Jammu at Community Health Centre, Kot Bhalwal. Adnan Syed, Secretary, DLSA and Dr Manzzoor Hussain, BMO Block Bhalwal along with large number of Asha workers and Female Multipurpose Workers (FMWs) were present on the occasion. Adnan Syed apprised the gathering about the objective of the camp, prevention and protection from domestic violence and their rights and duties enshrined in the law. Rekha Kumar, FMW spoke about the problems being faced by them while performing duties. In the end, vote of thanks was presented by Dr Manzoor Hussain, BMO Block Bhalwal.
AKHNOOR: Tehsil Legal Services Committee (TLSC) organized a legal awareness camp under the chairmanship of Pooja Raina, Chairman, TLSC at Gurha Brahmana, here. On the occasion, Tehsildar Akhnoor Kewal Krishan Sharma, Sr PO Koushal Kotwal, President Bar Association Parkash Raj Gupta, Advocate VK Sharma, Advocate DP Gupta, Advocate ML Sharma, Advocate Yash Karan Singh, local people, sarpanch and panchs and the village were present. Pooja Raina made people especially ladies about their rights. She asked them to raise their voice against any kind of domestic violence. Raina asked the people to ensure equality between male and female child. The programme was anchored by Advocate Anu Sharma.
