Lecturers’ Forum demands repatriation of J&K employees from Ladakh

JAMMU, July 4: Monthly meeting of All J&K Plus Two Lecturers’ Forum was held under the chairmanship of its President, Deepak Sharma through virtual mode wherein the Forum demanded repatriation of all J&K Government employees from Ladakh region including those from Education Department immediately and also raised other issues concerning Plus Two Cadre.
Deepak Sharma said that a large number of Lecturers and other Education Department employees from UT of J&K are serving in Ladakh region and have not been transferred back to their respective home districts even after completion of stipulated period of one year in hard areas. He further said that even option was sought from the J&K Government employees to choose between the two UTs of J&K and Ladakh on bifurcation of J&K state but no exercise has been done in this regard to give a sigh of relief to the employees.
It is pertinent to mention that Forum had raised this issue earlier also but no respite has been given to the JK employees working in Ladakh.
Deepak Sharma urged Lieutenant Governor J&K, Manoj Sinha for his personal intervention for immediate repatriation of all J&K Government employees in general and Education employees in particular including 63 Lecturers working there without Deputation allowance. He further added that by the time employees are distributed amongst the two UTs, even replacement can be provided by the Administrative Department for early repatriation of Lecturers.
Forum further demanded that all Lecturers and Principals who have completed tenure of more than one year in Hard areas should be repatriated to their home localities as per existing transfer policy and further transfers to Hard areas should be done with a rider of deemed to be relieved after successful completion of tenure of one year.
Forum in one voice demanded that all promotee Principals as well as well as Lecturers should be adjusted preferably in their parent districts if clear cut vacancy is there.
Proceedings of the meeting were conducted by General secretary R S Slathia and technical support was provided by vice president Anil Sharma.
