JAMMU, Oct 10: Department of Lifelong Learning organised a lecture on “Excellence in Routine” by Major Gen Raj Mehta (Retd), here today.
Gen Mehta gave a motivational lecture in which he focused the roles of males and females in society and divided his lecture in three different parts.
Dr Kavita Suri, Assistant Director, Department of Lifelong Learning introduced the programme, while Professor Poonam Dhawan, Director Department of Lifelong Learning presented formal welcome address.
It is pertinent to mention here that Maj Gen Raj Mehta has retired in 2006. He commanded both Armoured and Infantry unit/formations. In command of 1 sector RR in Kashmir, he sustained serious gun-shot wounds during an encounter with Pakistani terrorists.
Mehta deliberated upon the differences between males and females and gave specific tips and success mantra for becoming good students and scholars.
He motivated the gathering by highlighting the success stories of the women Army officers, women media persons and many other women who have achieved success in their lives by their hard work.
Mehta focussed on the fact that a common person can do extraordinary things with sheer-dint of hard work, while keeping in mind the target to be achieved.
He was accompanied by Colonel Ajai Sarma, Lt Col AK Singh and Lt Colonel Sachin Vasudev.
Dr Pallavi Sachdeva, Project Officer, Department of Lifelong Learning presented vote of thanks.
Over 50 students and scholars attended the programme.
Dr Manoj Bhatt, Dr Bharti Prabhkar, Dr Sandeep Singh, Dr Priyanka Sharma, Dr Vivek Sharma, Monika Kotwal, Sonia Sharma and Nisha Sharma were among others present on the occasion.
