VIJAYPUR, Aug 2: A lecture on Disaster Management was organized for the staff and trainees of the ongoing Disaster Management course here at Police Technical Training Institute (PTTI) Vijaypur today.
A press statement said that Janak Raj Thapa, retired ADG, Geological Survey of India, gave a brief introduction about the natural calamities like earthquakes, floods, droughts, cyclones, and landslides.
He told the participants that disasters cannot be prevented completely but the damages could be minimized using early warning systems, careful planning, and preparedness.
Shiv Kumar, Principal PTTI Vijaypur, expressed his gratitude to the guest speaker for sensitizing the staff and trainees about the disasters and harm they cause.
Dushyant Sharma, the Vice Principal, PTTI Vijaypur, said that the motive of organizing such lectures is to improve preparedness and response at all levels during the natural calamities and other untoward incidents.
He said that the experiences shared by the guest speak would help the police personnel to execute their best while performing the duties.
Among others Kuldeep Raj, DySP (Indoor/Tech), Inspectors Bhopinder Singh, Ram Lal, Ashish Dharmat, Pawan Kumar, Anil Kumar, among others were present on the occasion.
