JAMMU, Jan 17: Senior BJP leader Devender Singh Rana today said that promotion of Sanskrit language will enable the younger generation to access the vast repository of knowledge and wisdom.
“Preserving and promotion of Sanskrit is not only to sustain the language deeply rooted to Indian ethos but to safeguard the cultural legacy”, Rana said while interacting with a delegation of Shri Kailakh Jyotish Avim Vedic Sanathan Trust, Raipur Banatalab Jammu led by its President Mahant Rohit Shastri here this afternoon.
Lauding the tireless efforts of the Trust for promoting the ancient language, Rana emphasized the societal role in making use of Sanskrit that will empower the people to know their past, rich heritage and glorious ethos. He also advocated for making it mandatory for students to learn Sanskrit so that they remain rooted to their heritage. Learning Sanskrit language will hugely help in sharpening the mind and gaining knowledge about the ancient texts and scriptures which are mainly written in this language, he added.
Mahant Rohit Shastri presented the Annual trust Patrika “Kartavya Marg” and discussed various issues pertaining to heritage and culture and reiterated that the issue with regard to teaching of Sanskrit language from the sixth grade in schools across Jammu and Kashmir to keep children acquainted with the ancient scriptures—treasure trove of wisdom and knowledge. He hoped that this issue will be taken up with all the concerned, especially Lieutenant Governor Mr Manoj Sinha for implementation in the larger good of the coming generations.
He gave a detailed brief about the efforts being made by Shrikailakh Jyotish avim Vedic Sansthan Trust, Raipur Banatalab Jammu (registered), to start the study and teaching of Sanskrit language from the sixth grade in schools of Jammu and Kashmir.
Rana assured the issue will be pursued vigorously with all the concerned.
