Guitar chronicles is the series of articles written by member of team yantragyan to help you all getting started with learning guitar
Truth be told….you are a “Guitarist” ….already???
We all are guitarists. Even if you haven’t held a guitar in your whole lifetime, there is a little guitarist you, you just need to nurture that guitarist and become a ROCKSTAR. Every person is born with a talent, a talent for music. Music is such an awesome weapon, it hits you, it beats you, it kills you and it lives within you. We all love music, don’t we??
So, why learn guitar??? Maybe..because you can and it ain’t as untalented as you think.
A request to our readers, if you are learning guitar to impress the “pretty lady”…Stop reading this..drop the idea and buy the lady a Diamond Ring (If you can). This would save a lot of drama and time’.
*The first and the last person you wish to learn guitar for…..Yourself, Pretty Boy!!!!
Ok talk, talk and talk…let’s cut to the chase…How???? Well, first of all, buy a guitar (our next article will focus on that). About the learning process, the best thing you can go for….find a person who knows the real deal..or a good guitar teacher in your vicinity. It’s always better to learn from a person who knows the thing. Teachers can always tackle your problems better and efficiently and it saves a lot of time (Time is Money!!).

The next best option, you have it right in front of you. Your mobile or PC could prove to be a very handy and a rather good teacher. If you want a free of cost teacher, go for YouTube. YouTube has literally thousands of videos (some quite good ones) ranging from beginners to intermediate to advanced to professional. So it’s a very nice source considering it doesn’t ask for money.
If you can afford to spend some more money, buy “Instructional DVD’s” or subscribe to “Online Portals” offering quality teaching services. You could go for a set of DVD’s by Gibson. When it comes to guitars, Gibson is your Bentley and you won’t go wrong with them for sure.Like yantragyan on facebook for more updates. There are hundreds of other websites offering such services and some are real steel. The money they demand is not much and I know it would pinch you if you paid for them, but once you start learning from them, you’ll realize that its money spent wisely, so go for it if you can.

The last option is buying books that teach you guitar. But I would not recommend you those because they won’t teach you much, they won’t solve your queries, and guitar learning is much more of an interactive process rather than just trying to grasp what’s written. Now the crux of everything you read…….
“You Gotta work Hard, real Hard” if you wish to be a guitarist. If you think you’ll watch a few videos or take twenty lessons from your teacher and you’re gonna come out playing Blazing Solos, killer arpeggios, lovely rhythms…not gonna happen man…. Never ask any teacher or any guitar knowing person, “How much time would it take for me to learn guitar??”
Fact is, “How much time you are ready to devote in your playing’’. You cannot learn 100% of guitar in your whole lifetime, if you think you can, good luck doing that. No one in the world knows 100% of his/her instrument, not you, not me, not Jane, not John…. Most people leave the learning after some time when they think it’s not working, everyone goes through that phase and guitar becomes just a plaything . You need to make it a part of your own soul to make it happen.
