Dr Kapil Sharma
India is witnessing 75th Anniversary of Independence. Government of India is Celebrating it as ” Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav “. All over India various activities are going on. ” Healthy Campaign, Healthy Lifestyle ” is the slogan of Department of Health.
As we all know second wave of Covid19 is not yet over and danger of 3rd wave is looming large. Government and its machinery is doing its best to avert third wave. During first wave daily case load was around one lakh per day. Managing health crisis of this magnitude was a Herculean task but somehow India and its public with the support from all corners managed it. Then came Second Wave Daily caseload was approximately four lakhs per day. It was unprecedented never before country observed Health emergency of such mammoth scale . This time too County managed it with inside and Foreign support. Government used all its Diplomatic skills and in shortest possible time what so ever which was needed let it be Oxygen plants, Oxygen Concentrators , C pap, Oxygen tanks etc were arranged at war footing. Now experts are dreading 3rd wave. According to a study conducted by experts of IIT Kanpur if Covid Approprite Behavior is not adopted daily case load can reach up to 6lakhs per day. Experts predict wave can start in September 2021 and will peak in October 2021.
Department of Health is doing its best to make sure No Third Wave or if it’s there, it should be a very mild one. In this Pursuit vaccination is going on at war footing. India is Running world’s largest vaccination drive. We are able to administer over 1 crore vaccination per day. Department of Health of Jammu is not behind. Just recently, we achieved a brilliant distinction of administering more than 1 lakhs jabs in a day. Regular Tests both Rapid and RTPCR are being conducted ever since First wave. Teams constituted by CMO Jammu are conducting these tests at all entry points like Railway station, Airport and even at Lakhanpur Gate of entry to UT of Jammu and Kashmir. Health Department of District Jammu has carried out much more Covid-19 testing than the total population of District Jammu. This is because Jammu District has a huge flow of travelers. Apart from this Regular Trace, Testing and Treatment policy is aggressively enforced. Ambulance services like 108 is ferrying patients to dedicated facilities 24×7. Covid-19 treatment kits and pulse oxymeters are provided free of cost.
Covid-19 vaccination drive is going on regularly even at the remotest of Villages. Special Covid-19 vaccination was carried out at the posts of defense personnel itself so that National Security is not compromised. Special vaccination camps are also being conducted on public demands. These include offices, Bazars ( Businesses associations) etc. Health teams even attended those citizens at their doorsteps who were not able to reach Health care facilities due to various reasons.
These are few steps taken by Government. Now we as citizens of India have certain duties too. Common public can ensure No Third Wave in India. This can be achieved only by sticking to COVID appropriate behaviour. Time and again we have observed – moment Covid-19 cases go down, Public shun Covid Appropriate Behavior. It’s like lowering your shield. If we lower our shield enemy will definitely attack. Allow me to once again elaborate on Covid appropriate behavior.

Health Care workers are working day and night as covid warriors. We need your help and support to fight Covid19.
