Lead strengthens on uptick in demand

NEW DELHI, Oct 1:  Lead prices were up by Rs 2 per kg at the non-ferrous metal market today backed up by rising demand from consuming industries.
However, other base metals held steady in thin trade.
Traders said pick up in demand from battery-makers at domestic spot market mainly led to the rise in lead prices.
In the national capital, lead ingot and lead imported rose by Rs 2 each to Rs 89 and Rs 95 per kg, respectively.
Following are today’s metal rates (in Rs per kg):
Zinc ingot Rs 105-111, Nickel plate (4×4) Rs 825-830, gun metal scrap Rs 227, Bell metal scrap Rs 229, copper mixed scrap Rs 365, chadri deshi Rs 295.
Lead ingot Rs 89, lead imported Rs 95, aluminium ingots Rs 156, aluminium sheet cutting Rs 152, aluminium wire scrap Rs 152 and aluminium utensils scrap Rs 150. (PTI)
