Lead slips in futures trade on soft demand

NEW DELHI, Sept 13:  Lead fell 0.48 per cent to Rs 145.65 per kg in futures trade today as speculators reduced positions amid muted spot demand.
At the Multi Commodity exchange, lead for delivery in October contracts was trading 65 paise, or 0.44 per cent, down at Rs 146.75 per kg in a business turnover of 7 lots.
Metal prices for delivery in current month also fell by 70 paise, or 0.48 per cent, to Rs 145.65 per kg in 364 lots.
Market analysts said slackened demand from battery-makers in the domestic spot market and weakness in select base metals overseas, led to the fall in lead futures prices here, as speculators cut down their holdings. (PTI)
