NEW DELHI, Mar 13: Lead futures prices today rose by 0.41 per cent to trade higher at Rs 121 per kg on rising spot demand and positive cues from global markets.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in March traded 50 paise, or 0.41 per cent higher, at Rs 121 per kg, with a turnover of 5,631 lots.
The metal for delivery in April also rose by 45 paise, or 0.37 per cent, to trade at Rs 121.65 per kg, in a business turnover of 316 lots.
Globally, lead gained 1.7 per cent to USD 2,234 a tonne at the London Metal Exchange (LME).
Marketmen said besides strong domestic demand from battery-makers, a firm trend in the base metals at the LME as signs of strength in Chinese auto sales and progress in the US labour market brightened the outlook for demand, helped lead futures to trade higher. (PTI)
