NEW DELHI, June 19: Buoyed by a firm global trend and better domestic demand, lead futures traded higher by 0.22 per cent to Rs 114.65 per kg today as speculators enlarged positions.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in the current month traded higher by 25 paise, or 0.22 per cent, to Rs 114.65 per kg in a business turnover of 512 lots.
The metal for delivery in July was up by just five paise or 0.04 per cent to Rs 115.60 per kg in 13 lots.
Market analysts said besides better demand from battery-makers and other consuming industries at domestic spot market, firm global trend in select base metals mainly helped lead prices to trade marginally higher in futures market. (PTI)
