NEW DELHI, June 28: Lead prices advanced by 0.12 per cent to Rs 167.35 per kg in futures trade today as speculators built up fresh positions, driven by an upsurge in demand at the spot market.
A firm trend in base metals in Asian trade also supported the upside.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in June edged higher by 20 paise, or 0.12 per cent to Rs 167.35 per kg in business turnover of 168 lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in July inched up by 10 paise, or 0.06 per cent, to Rs 168.20 per kg in 26 lots.
Analysts said fresh positions created by traders following uptick in demand from battery-makers in the physical market mainly led to the rise in lead prices at futures trade. (PTI)
