Leh, July 6: Ladakh Buddhist Association (LBA), All Ladakh Gonpa Association and Tibetan Community led by CRO celebrated Dalai Lama’s 85th Birthday at his official residence at Jeve Tsal Photang Choglamsar in Leh.
LBA members led by President PT Kunzang, CRO Chetan Wangchuk and LGA representative offered prayers at Jeve Tsal followed by cake cutting ceremony.
BJP National General Secretary Ram Madhav, Hill Council Chairman Gyal P.Wangyal, MP Ladakh Jamyang Tsering Namgyal also attended the celebration.
LBA President PT Kunzang said that Dalai Lama was scheduled to visit Leh this summer but due to COVID-19 pandemic his programme stand cancelled and expressed his hope that Dalai Lama will visit next year.
Tibetan Community head CRO Chetan Wangchuk said that Dalai Lama stressed upon four commitments which includes Oneness of Humanity, preservation of Tibetan Culture and environment, promotion of religious harmony and revival of Ancient Buddhist so responsibilities lies on every individual to practice on his commitments.
Representative from Gonpa Association, LBA Women Wing, LBA Wing also spoke on the occasion.
