JAMMU, Sept 25: Peeved over the callousness of the authorities, the residents of Laxmipuram Sector A-1 Chinore today warned to launch agitation in case the authorities continue their pathetic attitude towards them.
As all their pleas to no avail, the residents of the area have decided to launch agitation against the authorities who failed to renovate the one and a half kilometer link road in the area which is presently in a dilapidated condition having deep ditches.
They said the drains on the side of the road are totally damaged and the water gets accumulated in road during the rain creating health hazards.
Despite bringing the matter in the notice of Commissioner JMC number of times over last one year no body bothered to look into the problem and renovate the road, said Girdhari Lal a local resident.
There is nobody to listen our pleas said Jagdish Verma another resident. The internal lanes in the area have also not been constructed till date though the colony is over 20 year old, he added.
It is not known that huge funds have been given by Centre to the State for development but where this money goes as every officer whom we approach says that there are no funds, said Kiran Jee Kaul. The residents said that the link road having three feet deep ditches may not turn a death trap and in case the immediate steps are not taken any mishap can take place over it.
In their separate appeals to the Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh who is also holding the portfolio of Urban Development Ministry and Minister of Health and Medical Education Bali Bhagat who is the local MLA also the people have sought their immediate intervention in the matter.
