Lawyers hold protest dharna, demand constt of multi-storey building for housing all judicial works

JAMMU, Aug 12: Continuing their agitation for construction of multi-storey complex in the court premises at Janipur (Jammu), members of the J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu (JKHCBAJ held a strong protest dharna at main road Janipur under the leadership of M K Bhardwaj, senior Advocate and president JKHCBAJ.
All the office bearers of the Association namely Mohinder Pal Singh Pali (vice president), Surjeet Singh Andotra (general secretary), Aditya Sharma (joint secretary), Amandeep Singh (treasurer), Rohit Sharma (YLA president), Gagandeep Singh Lucky (YLA vice president), Yaseer Farooq Khan (YLA general secretary), Karanjeet Singh Johal (YLA joint secretary), Naresh Kumar (YLA treasurer), besides many senior and young lawyers participated in the protest dharna in support of their demands viz-a-viz. construction of multi-storey building for housing all the judicial work i.e. Registration work, CAT, DRT, AFT and other Tribunals within the court premises.
The lawyers sitting on protest dharna were raising slogans in support of their demands and were also holding the national flag in their hands. Speaking on the occasion, Bhardwaj expressed great resentment and anguish over the delaying tactics adopted on part of the Government towards the genuine demands projected by the J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu, whereby the general public and the lawyers would be benefited.
He further stated that the Government is expected to provide all the facilities/benefits for the welfare and the convenience of the general public. He urged upon the UT administration as well as Union Government to take immediate decision conceding the genuine demands projected by the Bar. Bhardwaj further stressed upon the Government to take immediate necessary steps for fulfillment of the demands of the legal fraternity.
Addressing the protesting lawyers, Mohinder Pal Singh Pali demanded the U T Government to immediately resolve all the issues of the Bar Association so as to maintain peaceful atmosphere and avoid inconvenience caused to the general public in Jammu.
Surjeet Singh Andotra and Aditya Sharma also addressed the protest dharna in support of the demands.
