JAMMU, July 27: Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Commissioner, Avny Lavasa here today inspected the ongoing works of pedestrian walkway along river Tawi from Peerkho to PHE station.
During inspection, Joint Commissioner (W) apprised Lavasa that the project was approved under AMRUT with a sanctioned cost of Rs. 540 lakh during the year 2015-16. During inspection JMC Commissioner found that the walkway has been completed for a length of 945 meters out of 1036 meters.
She directed the concerned officers that the allied works like electrification, drainage, painting of fencing grills, cutting of bushes etc should be completed within a month.
The Commissioner also issued on spot instructions to the Joint Commissioner (Works) for conducting an immediate meeting with the contractor to whom the contract has been allotted for finalizing activity wise timeline for completing the remaining work of the project well before the end of August 2020.
Deputy Director (Planning), Executive Engineer Division-II and Consultant of the project were also present on the occasion.
