JAMMU, June 6: A Building Operation Controlling Authority (BOCA) meeting was held here today under the chairpersonship of Avny Lavasa, Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC).
Representatives of line departments also participated in the meeting during which building permission cases were decided.
The cases cleared in the meeting would generate revenue for JMC apart from bringing succor to the applicants who had applied for the permission.
Speaking on the occasion Avny Lavasa stated that JMC shall convene BOCA meetings regularly so that more and more building permissions are granted under norms and pendency in this regard is reduced.
The JMC Commissioner also advised the general public to refrain from raising constructions illegally and unauthorizedly and obtain proper building permission from JMC before undertaking construction of houses or commercial establishments.
She also said that constructions without proper building permission from JMC are liable for legal action including sealing, demolition etc.
The Commissioner also advised the persons to whom building permission stands granted to approach JMC for clearing of debris at reasonable rates.
