JAMMU, July 24: A large number of devotees thronged the Maha Ragheneya Temple Bhawani Nagar on the occasion of Ashad Ashtami today and paid obeisance to Godess Ragheneya (Kheer Bhawani).
On the occasion a Maha Yagya was also organized by Ardh Ratri Maha Raghenya Sewa Sanastha Trust , Bhawani Nagar. The hawan started last evening and Puranahuti was performed this afternoon.
The devotees who participated in the hawan continued chanting Mantras for entire night and singing bhajans. The atmosphere was highly charged with religious fervour.
After Puranahuti prashad was served to the devotees by the volunteers of the Trust which organised the entire function and which is managing the holy shrine.
In the evening the Sandhya Aarti was offered at 7.20 pm which was followed by the address of president of the Trust L D Koul.
He expressed his gratitude to the people as well as the authorities of PHE, PDD, JMC, police and security agencies for their services rendered to the devotees.
