Large chunk of Govt land retrieved, cases registered against encroachers

JAMMU, Feb 5: A large chunk of Government land was retrieved from the encroachers in Nikki Tawi area here today.
As per official sources, on specific information about encroachment of Government land, a joint inspection was conducted by a team from Police Station Satwari and Revenue Department in Nikki Tawi area under Khasra Number 302.
There is around 2396 kanals of Government land in the said kharsa number which has been illegally encroached at multiple places.
During inspection, illegal constructional work at four sites was stopped and constructional material was seized. Legal action against all the accused involved in this criminal act of illegal encroachment has been initiated.
Cases under FIR Numbers 17/22, 18/22, 19/22 and 20/22 under Section 447 IPC have been registered against the encroachers at Police Station Satwari and further investigation is underway.
The people have been advised not to encroach Government land in any part of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir otherwise strict action will be taken against the encroachers.
