Langoo, Tsering selected for Sangeet Natak Akademi Award

JAMMU, Nov 25: Krishen Langoo, a well known Music Composer and Director as well as artist from J&K and Tsering Stanzin of folk music from Union Territory of Ladakh are among the 86 artists all over the country selected by Sangeet Natak Akademi for one time Sangeet Natak Akademi Amrit Award under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM).
The award carries a purse money of Rs one lakh, besides a Tamrapatra and Angavastram.
The Akademi, in a statement issued today, said that 86 artists from the field of performing arts of India have been selected for the award.
The decision was taken in the meeting of General Council of Sangeet Natak Akademi and the National Academy of Music, Dance and Drama, New Delhi held from November 6 to 8 at Union Capital.
The artists selected were above the age of 75 years and have not been accorded any national honour in their career so far, from the field of performing arts of India.
