KISHTWAR, April 28: Due to recent landslides and heavy rainfall in the district, the main 250 mm diameter water supply pipes of Naigad Water Supply Scheme at Hunjala, supplying water to Kishtwar town has been badly damaged.
As a consequence, water supply to Kishtwar town will be disrupted until the restoration is complete.
Sunil Sharma, Executive Engineer Jal Shakti Kishtwar informed the Excelsior that restoration efforts will commence as soon as weather conditions permit.
He assured that the department has mobilized logistics and human resources to expedite the restoration process, ensuring minimal inconvenience to the public.
Sharma further said that interim arrangements will be made to augment the water supply as needed, mitigating the impact on residents of Kishtwar town.
“The public is requested to cooperate with Jal Shakti Department during this challenging period and exercise patience as restoration efforts are underway,” he maintained.
