SRINAGAR, Apr 16: Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) today trapped and arrested Lambardar of village Kunthbagh, Baramulla for demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 4000 while a case has also been registered against Patwari, Halqa Khawaja Bagh, Baramulla.
The arrested Lambardar, namely Manzoor Ahmad, was demanding and accepting bribe for handing over two NoCs of building permissions.
ACB had received a complaint from a resident of Baramulla against Lambardar Manzoor Ahmad and Patwari Halqa Khawaja Bagh, Baramulla alleging therein the demand of bribe by the duo.

After registering a Case FIR under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act at Police Station, Anti-Corruption Bureau, Baramulla, a trap team was constituted which caught the Lambardar red handed inside the Tehsil office Baramulla premises while demanding and accepting bribe from the complainant. The revenue NoCs of the complainant and his father prepared by Patwari concerned and issued by Tehsil office were also recovered from his possession in presence of independent witnesses along with bribe money.
Searches were also conducted at the residence of the accused person. The role of Patwari concerned and other public servants of Tehsil office Baramulla is also being investigated.
