PAHALGAM, July 3: Minister for Health and Medical Education, Ch Lal Singh today reviewed the arrangements for ongoing Amarnathji Yatra from the Nunwan Base Camp near Pahalgam to the Holy Cave Shrine.
He was accompanied by DG, ISM, Dr Abdul Kabir, Director Health Services Kashmir, Samir Mattoo and other Civil and Police officers.
The Minister went around the Nunwan Base Camp for a detailed inspection of the logistical facilities and other arrangements made for the pilgrimage. He directed the health authorities to provide round the clock medical facilities to the Yatris and ensure that Yatris are not charged beyond the fixed Government rates for various medical diagnostic facilities.
The Minister reviewed the arrangements regarding sanitation, toilet facilities, power and drinking water supply, medicare, functioning of langars and other wayside utilities.
While interacting with the doctors and para-medical staff at the various camps en-route Nunwan Base Camp to Holy Cave, the Minister asked them to conduct a thorough health check of all the Yatris visiting the health centres. He reiterated the importance of healthcare facilities and availability of portable oxygen cylinders in sufficient quantity at all the camp locations en-route.
The Minister also visited the health camp at Pissu Top and other track stretches en-route and reviewed healthcare facilities available there.
