Lal Singh takes stock of public issues

KATHUA, Jan 28: Minister for Forests, Ecology and Environment Choudhary Lal Singh today  convened a public grievances redressal camp at Check Dessa  to take  stock of public issues and assess the status of developmental works being executed in the area.
The people apprised the Minister of their issues regarding welfare and development of their respective areas.
The Minister assured the people that all their issues would be taken up with the concerned authorities for their early redressal.
Spelling out Government initiatives for equitable development of all parts of the State, the Minister said that the Government is working on an agenda of providing equal opportunities of growth and development to everyone which is being implemented with full dedication and sincerity.
He said Agriculture, Horticulture, Sericulture, Fisheries, Dairy, have immense scope and by opting mix farming, the farmers can earn more. He said youth must come forward to avail skill development programmes undertaken by several Government departments and agencies like JKEDI, DUDA, DRDA etc to become self reliant.
The Minister also appealed people to uproot the menace of open defecation to support Swachh Bharat Mission. He directed Rural Development Department to work vigorously on educating people to construct toilet units in every single households.
He called for identification of beneficiaries  to be covered under Prime Minister Awaas Yojna.
He said that it is the endeavor of the Government to provide all basic facilities to the people on priority basis. He said that Government is fully aware of people’s problems and committed to ensure speedy redressal of the grievances of people adding that directions have already been issued to the officers to mitigate the genuine issues of public in time bound  manner.
Meanwhile, Choudhary Lal Singh released  calendar of Forest Department for 2018.
Vice Chairman OBC Rashpal Verma, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests Ravi Kesar, Chairman State Pollution Control Board B Siddhartha, Chief Wildlife Warden Manoj Panth, District Development Commissioner Rohit Khajuria, HoDs of Forest and its allied Wings, Ex-MLA Basholi and President Hockey JK Kanta Andotra besides other senior officers  were present on the occasion.
The calendar depicts the special activities and achievements of the Forest Department and its allied wings. The calendar was designed by the Directorate of Forest Department under the supervision of Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, Ravi Kesar.
