JAMMU, Apr 20: Minister for Health and Medical Education, ARI and Trainings Ch Lal Singh today reviewed the progress of ongoing Health and Medical Education Department projects of Jammu division at a high level meeting of officers of R&B, JKPCC, JK Housing Board and JK Police Housing Corporation and PDA.
Commissioner/Secretary Health and Medical Education Shantmanu, Managing Director JK Police Housing Corporation Dilbagh Singh, Principal Government Medical College Dr. Ghanshyam Dev, Director Health Services Dr. Baljeet Singh Pathania, Mission Director NRHM Dr. Yash Pal Sharma, Project Director AIDS Control Society Dr. Mohan Singh besides Chief Medical Officers, Medical Superintendents, Block Medical Officers, Executive Engineers of JKPCC, R&B, JK Housing Board, JK Police Housing Corporation and PDA were present in the meeting.
The Minister directed the executing agencies to gear up their men and machinery to complete the ongoing construction works of District Hospitals, Sub-District Hospitals, Primary Health Centres, Sub-Centres and staff quarters in Jammu Division within stipulated time. He said Government is committed to provide residential accommodation to the doctors and paramedical staff members in far-off areas of the State so that they could be readily available during emergency cases.
Ch Lal Singh informed that Government has released Rs. 277.62 crore out of detailed project report submitted by the health authorities for completion of 61 works under health sector. He further informed that Government has allocated Rs. 82.65 crore out of Rs 126.54 crore for completion 9 projects under Medical Education sector in Jammu division. He said that the balance cost of the projects under the sectors would be released after monitoring the quality and designs.
The Minister asked the officers not to start any project without completing tendering formalities. He asked them to personally monitor the quality of ongoing projects. He asked for preparing site plan of new sub-centres with residential quarters so that the doctors and paramedical staff will be accommodated there for treatment of people in odd hours.
It was given out that Government has released Rs. 146.14 crore for construction of complexes of SDH Jourian, SDH Gandoh, SDH Bishnah, SDH R. S Pura, SDH Banihal, SDH Akhnoor, PHC Manjakote, Rajouri, Additional Accommodation at PHC Manajkote, Rajouri, upgradation of Rajiv Gandhi Hospital, Gangyal, GNM School, Akhnoor, ANM School, Reasi, ANM School at Kishtwar and Ayurvedic College at Jammu, DH Ramban, ANMT Hostel DH Udhampur, construction of boundary wall around new District Hospital at Rajouri, DH Doda, Accidential Hospital at Khellini, SDH Mahore, SDH Chenani, SDH Darhal, SDH Bhaderwah, PHC Sohal, PHC Mishriwala and DH Reasi.
For construction of doctor’s residential quarters at SDH Marh, SDH R S Pura, ANM School Ramban, GNM School, Udhampur, ANM School, Bhaderwah, GNM School, Kathua, GNM School, Doda, the Government has released Rs. 21.30 crore and Rs. 87.19 crore for construction of NTPHC at Sanasar in Ramban.
