Lal Singh reviews infrastructure facilities for GNM at AMT School

JAMMU, Aug 14: Minister for Health and Medical Education, ARI and Trainings Choudhary Lal Singh today inspected the infrastructural facilities for General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM) at Ancillary Medical Training (AMT) school at Government Medical College (GMC), here this evening.
Principal GMC Dr. Ghanshyam Dev Gupta, Mission Director National Health Mission (NHM) Dr. Yash Pal Sharma, Joint Director Planning Madan Lal, Incharge Medical Superitendent of GMC Dr. Wasiq Rasool, Principal AMT school Dr. Rajni Sharma besides other senior officers of AMT and GMC were present on the occasion.
After inspecting the infrastructural facilities for GNM at AMT school, the Minister asked the Principal of the school to provide quality education to the GNM under the courses like Ophthalmic Assistant, Lab. Assistant, X-Ray Assistant, Dental Assistant and Pharmacist (Medical Assistant). He said Ancillary Medical Training (A.M.T.) School is a pioneer institute for training the Ancillary Medical personnel and offering the basic and promotional educational programs.
Choudhary Lal Singh directed the Principal AMT to immediately install purify for safe drinking water for the students.
The Minister directed FMPHWs to work with dedication and ensure best medical facilities to the people. He said ít is the prime duty of the every officer and official of the Health and Medical Education Department to be more responsive and prompt towards patient care.
The Minister cautioned that no laxity or carelessness will be accepted as for as patient care is concerned. He instructed for discouraging the unnecessary referrals from rural hospitals to tertiary hospitals to avoid crowds. He called for equipping the district as well as rural areas hospitals properly to attend all types of patients except of serious nature which require specialized treatment in the tertiary centers. “The concerned doctors will have to give the reason for referring the particular patient to the higher institutions”, he ordered.
Later, Choudhary Lal Singh convened meeting with the staff members of the AMT school and directed them to put in their sincere efforts in providing the quality education and good infrastructure to the students of the school.
The Minister asked the officers of Planning Department to make new plans for improving the functioning of the AMT school and submit the same for further necessary actions.
