JAMMU, Oct 24: Ch Lal Singh inaugurated Ist CRAB -E- CON a cancer conference with breast Cancer as its theme here today which was Jointly organized by North Zone Association of Radiation Oncologists of India, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University Radiations of Hope (a cancer care initiative by Dr. Deepak Abrol) and Maharishi Dayanand Hospital & Medical Research Centre Jammu.
It was a cancer conference with a difference where topic of breast cancer was discussed in detail. Oncologists from Northern India along with UP & Bihar were involved in conception of Idea of this conference which discussed breast cancer thread bare form basics to translational research and from normal medical treatment to high end technical Advances.
NZAROI felicitated Ch. Lal Singh who was Chief Guest of Inaugural Ceremony. VC of SMVDU Dr. S.K. Jain was Guest of Honour. Students from SMVDU sung Sarswati Vandana followed by Screening of a documentary film by Pink chain cancer awareness campaign.
Dr. Deepak Abrol convener of Conference & State Co-ordinator Pink Chain gave an idea of how the film was conceived keeping Patient’s Perspective in mind. He explained about activities of Radiations of Hope and foundation of Cancer Research Group CRAB (Cancer Research & Analysis Bureau)- a Jammu based Cancer Research Group with a Pan India Presence looking towards world for collaboration.
Vice Chancellor SMVDU and President NZAROI also addressed the gathering. Later LBN Crown of Honour was presented to Ch. Lal Singh by the Organizers.
In his address Ch. Lal Singh Ji, stressed the need for Cancer research and holding of conferences of this nature. Patient’s interest being always close to his heart, he stressed medicos to work with missionary zeal & conviction toward Society. He also stressed the need for such scientific conference for doctors so that they can stay a fresh with knowledge. Being vibrant and firebrand as always Minister enthused the Organizer and Attendees with motivational and positive energy.
Important dignitaries who attended conferences included Principal GMC, Director Health Services Jammu, Director JKMSC, Director NHRM and others.
Managing Partners and Staff of MDH, Staff Volunteers of ROH and Research Scholar of SMVDU were working round to clock for last one month to make this Conference a Grand Success.
