NOWSHERA/AKHNOOR, Apr 1: Dogra Swabhiman Sangathan (DSS) leader, Ch Lal Singh has said that all the workers of DSS are busy in uniting different sections of society in Jammu province under the banner of ‘Dogra’ whereas on social media a section of political parties along with people holding constitutional positions are indulging in rumour-mongering and spreading hatred.
Urging the people of Jammu to maintain calm and not to respond to these types of rumours, Lal Singh said that people of Jammu trusts DSS and will respond to the rumours by voting in favour of DSS.
Singh further said that whenever there is election season in India, the frequency of fake news plays a big role in the voting process and India is one of the 48 countries where political parties formally organize social media campaigns to manage the process of election.
“The 2019 election has seen a plethora of false, derogatory and damaging rumours. Some of the so called most famous MPs are spreading rumours against the DSS candidate. Almost accepting their defeat in the election they are now busy in spreading rumours. These candidates have nothing to show to the public and they are playing the very cheap politics that Lal Singh has withdrawn his candidature,” he maintained.
Lal Singh further said that a written complaint to the Election Commission of India against the different WhatApp groups created by these parties will be lodged soon.
